TGF Mermaid Anya

Posted by Jackie on 29th Jun 2014

Summer is here so I'm sharing a summer-themed card today. What says summer better than a mermaid?

First I stamped Mermaid Anya onto Copic X-Press It blending paper with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Then I used Copic Markers to color the image. To add a scaly effect to Anya's tail, take the darker marker that was used for shading and add some dots of ink. After coloring, the image was fussy-cut, leaving a thin white border. Afterwards I adhered the image to a 3¼" white circle layered on a 3¾" green scalloped circle.

The background of the card was created using a color-blocking technique with patterned paper and embossed Shimmer Sheetz.

Mermaid Anya’s hair is accented with green sequins while blue and purple sequins were added around her to give the effect of bubbles. Green pearls at the top of the card add a finishing touch and tie everything together.

I hope this card inspires you! What’s your favorite thing about summer?
